In 2011, it is estimated that more than 1,250 exhibitors and 75,000 professional visitors, including 2,500 from abroad, will be present at the exhibition.

Located at the heart of the Massif Central, in the largest beef cattle breeding region in Europe, the SOMMET is a business forum primarily devoted to showing animals.

In 2010, more than 2,000 animals of high genetic value will be presented at the show (22 French and European cattle breeds, 26 sheep breeds, 16 horse breeds, etc.). The Limousin beef breed (500 animals on show) will even organise its national competition at the SOMMET DE L'ELEVAGE in the prestigious Zénith concert hall!

Main lines of agricultural policy

Every year the show, which is a veritable platform for agricultural policy, is inaugurated by the most important representatives of the state who come to meet the professionals from the agricultural sector.

For 3 days, the SOMMET DE L'ELEVAGE offers a wide-ranging programme including visits to farms, professional events, demonstrations of quality and several conferences and symposia dealing with agricultural.
