Excellent participation in Agritechnica 2017

Agritechnica’s organizer, DLG (Deutsche Landwirtschafts-Gesellschaft or German Agricultural Society) today announced that more than 2,400 exhibitors from 53 countries have already registered for the international agricultural exhibition Agritechnica, which will be held in Hanover from 12 to 18 November 2017 (preview days on 12 and 13 November). Agritechnica's project manager, Marie Servais, says all the world's leading companies will be represented at Agritechnica 2017, where they will present their innovations and current developments.

"The registration result is roughly the same as two years ago, but this year there were many early enquiries from exhibitors and also from visitors,” adds Marie Servais. "A number of innovations for the professional crop industry are expected again this autumn to tie in with our theme "Green Future - Smart Technology. As a crucial platform for new technology, Agritechnica 2017 will provide a new and positive impetus for the international agricultural market in the medium- and long-term.”

Foreign participation continues to grow

Foreign participation continues to grow at Agritechnica, and it currently stands at 60 percent. The 1,438 foreign exhibitors registered so far come from Italy (349 companies), the Netherlands (104), Turkey (103), China (101), France (99), Poland (66), Austria (64), Spain (57), Great Britain (54), USA (45), Denmark (40), Finland (38), Canada (38) and India (36).

In addition, country pavilions from a total of 17 countries are represented at the exhibition, which includes two new-comers, Denmark and Ireland. DLG says this high level of foreign participation is a clear signal of agricultural companies further increasing their global orientation by developing global links. They want to use the platform of Agritechnica in a targeted way to open up new markets.

Worldwide novelties

The DLG says the reasons for the excellent exhibitor demand include, on the one hand, the leading position of Agritechnica as a meeting place for the agricultural machinery sector thanks to the professional profiles of the farmers, contractors and traders that attend from all over the world. Two years ago about 451,000 visitors, including 98,000 from abroad, visited Agritechnica.

On the other hand, the high demand is also due to the fact that Agritechnica is the shop window for manufacturers’ innovations. They focus their product development cycles on Agritechnica and present their innovations for the world market. Added to this, the excellent location and facilities of the Hanover site, which is the world's largest trade fair grounds, offers optimal conditions for exhibitors as well as for visitors.

New special feature "Future Crop Protection-Responsibility Needs Ideas"

The requirement for sustainable agriculture is to reconcile productivity with resource and environmental protection. To this end, farmers need appropriate know-how and technologies to implement these goals efficiently on their farms. In an increasingly digitized world, a multitude of innovative technologies are available.

With its 2017 theme, "Green Future-Smart Technology", Agritechnica presents the current technologies and trends that can ensure a sustainable productivity increase in agriculture. These include, in particular, the latest developments in the field of plant protection. Predictive models, nozzle technology and GPS section control, as well as drone and robot technology help to produce healthy and sufficient foodstuffs and agricultural raw materials.

At Agritechnica 2017, DLG will cooperate with the Integrated Crop Production Information System (ISIP) e.V. to present a special feature on crop protection. Under the theme "Future Crop Protection-Responsibility Needs Ideas", the feature will provide a platform for manufacturers, institutions and specialist partners to present their latest technologies and systems. This will create a unique opportunity for visitors to compare systems and offers in one place.

"Systems & Components"

For the third time, Agritechnica is offering an international platform for systems, modules, components and accessories for agricultural and associated technology within its Systems & Components section. This gives visitors the opportunity to get to know the latest innovations in the areas of engines, hydraulics, axles, drive technology, cabins, electronics, spare parts and wear parts, and software.

Machines from the agricultural sector and their components have developed into highly complex units, and the optimal interaction between components plays an essential role if mobile applications are to function optimally. Systems & Components will, therefore take place under the theme "Stay connected".

As well as the range of products offered by exhibitors, Systems & Components opens up a wide range of possibilities for expert dialogues, co-operative discussions and business contacts.

Forestry and Landscape Information Center

A large number of exhibitors will present classic forestry techniques for the rural woodland in Hall 26, as well as in the adjacent open spaces around the pavilions and under the large wooden roof (south of Hall 26). The focus of the demonstrations this year will be the transport of cut timber. In a loading arena, several vehicles for different sizes of forestry operations and applications, will be shown and explained several times per day.

Visitors will also be given the opportunity to operate a forestry forwarder simulator under the guidance of a professional. In addition, forestry champions will show how chainsaw and chain can be kept in good working order. In addition to the exhibitors' technical services, specialists at the section’s information center will provide information on woodland and countryside management, occupational safety, technology and marketing.

International Dealer and Service Center

DLG, LandBauTechnik-Bundesverband (the Federal Agricultural Engineering Association) and the European agricultural machinery dealer association CLIMMAR will jointly set up an "International Dealer and Service Center" at Agritechnica 2017. This integrated service center includes service providers from the finance, insurance, logistics, used machinery sellers, freight forwarders, customs processing and personnel services segments.

This will make the "International Dealer and Service Center" an excellent platform for establishing worldwide contacts and for establishing, among other things, the demand for second-hand machines in different countries worldwide. Daily themed talks will take place, for example on questions of machine insurance or customs formalities when exporting used technology, to supplement the program of this important section of the exhibition.

Special "Workshop LIVE"

Good service and well-trained specialists are an important prerequisite for the functioning of the agricultural machinery market. In co-operation with Germany’s LandBauTechnik-Bundesverband (Federal Agricultural Engineering Association), the DLG will present a new edition of the special "Workshop LIVE" at Agritechnica 2017.

This will show the requirements for the various qualification levels (apprentices, service technicians and masters) for land and construction machine mechanics, using practical demonstrations of maintenance and conversion work on state-of-the-art technology. In addition, there will again be an extensive information service offered by the training providers involved in this occupation.

"Campus & Career" for education, careers and science

This year, DLG is organizing its own Campus & Career section at Agritechnica. This is the ideal starting point for mature job seekers and young job starters looking for information on building a career in the agricultural sector. Campus & Career unites everything around the topics of occupations, further education and career, as well as research and science.

In addition to exhibitor stands for the recruitment of employees, the Campus & Career section also offers information on Young Farmers Day, further education opportunities, DLG careers and career counseling.

There is also the Campus & Career stage, complete with a red sofa, that will offer a broad and exciting presentation program that’s not just for junior trainees. For the first time this year, a “career path” with booths will be offered on two days. Visitors will be able to visit on both the 15 and 16 of November.

Future of the agricultural industry: Top-class international specialist program

Thanks to its high-caliber program, with a multitude of international events such as congresses, workshops and forums, Agritechnica is considered to be the most important event in terms of looking at the future of the agricultural industry. Here, visitors will be able to learn more about developing technical trends as well all the important questions being raised about agriculture and agricultural technology.

At the international conference "Land.Technik-AgEng 2017", the latest developments in agricultural technology and up-to-the-minute research results will be presented and discussed on 10/11 November by the VDI Science Forum.

And after its successful launch two years ago, the international series of events under the heading "Ag Machinery International – Access to Emerging Markets" will once again be the focus of numerous visitors. This part of the exhibition focuses on the agricultural markets in China, Iran, Kenya, Myanmar, Russia, Zambia, Thailand and Ukraine. Market potentials, market access, financing frameworks and technical requirements are all examined here.

A great deal of attention will also be paid to the European Youth and Student Day organized by the Young DLG, together with national and international partners, for Agritechnica 2017.

International Contact Exchange "Match & Meet"

Once again, there will be an international contact exchange "Match & Meet" at Agritechnica to promote cooperation and business development. Exhibitors and visitors can register online in September, posting their profile and specific requirements or offers. Software will identify matches, allowing a first meeting to be fixed at Agritechnica.

International Visitors' Lounge in Hall 21

The central meeting place for visitors from all over the world at Agritechnica 2017 is the International Visitors' Lounge. It is located in Hall 21, close to the DLG's large information stand. In the International Visitors' Lounge, guests from Germany and abroad can meet their business partners, conduct meetings and plan their exhibition tour. In addition, Internet connections will be available to allow visitors free access to their email so they can maintain contact with their companies and business partners around the world.

Multilingual information on the Internet

DLG has set up a special, multi-lingual information service on the internet so that interested parties can quickly and extensively inform themselves about Agritechnica 2017. The event’s website includes, among other things, information about the exhibitors, travel agency information to help you arrange a visit, details of innovations that can be seen this year (available from the middle of September) and information on the international specialist program.

From September onwards, the Agritechnica website will also provide the best planning and orientation information for visitors to find their way around the Hanover Fair Grounds. This will include help with planning routes through the individual exhibition halls. The website address is: www.agritechnica.com
