INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2012: 25-26-27 November 2012 in Kortrijk Xpo (Belgium)

INTERPOM | PRIMEURS is renowned as the most complete information and contact platform for the whole potato, fruit and vegetable sector in Europe, from growing to processing. The unequalled range of exhibits, strong focus on quality, professional character and friendly atmosphere at the event never fail to mobilise everyone in the sector in Europe and increasingly in other continents too, to home in on Kortrijk Xpo every two years.

Significant growth and internationalisation

The last INTERPOM | PRIMEURS in 2010 hosted 225 exhibitors (up 21%, and an extra exhibition hall) from 11 countries and clocked up a record number of visitors too: 14 059 from 25 different countries! This confirmed INTERPOM | PRIMEURS as a very international event and the most highly specialised indoor trade show for the fruit and vegetable sector in Europe. Both exhibitors and visitors were extremely satisfied after the last event. No less than 96.5% of our visitors declared that they intended to visit the next event as well, and 97% of the exhibitors intended to take part again in 2012. This remarkably high satisfaction rate in 2010 has had a marked effect on the bookings we have already had for INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2012.

There are still 7 months to go before the event and 180 exhibitors have already registered to take part.

Together they have booked a stand area of 12 000m2, which already equals the total stand area in 2010! We have again made an extra exhibition hall available to meet the demand for additional  stand space.

INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2012 will be even bigger than last time, and will occupy the entire exhibition complex at Kortrijk Xpo. The Belgian potato processing industry is now the biggest exporter of potato products in the world, as recently announced in the media. And the ware and seed potato sector is also strongly export-oriented, like the Belgian frozen vegetable sector. In this context, the role of the trade fair INTERPOM | PRIMEURS plays a key role in stimulating constant innovation in the potato and vegetable chain. Suppliers from all over the world come here to exchange ideas, products and services at the largest indoor potato event in the world.

On the occasion of INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2012, the trade federations Belgapom and Vegebe together with the trade, export and investment offices VLAM, APAQ-W, FIT and AWEX, will arrange a meeting with these bodies and their export representatives, to promote the export of these products to all corners of Europe and the world.

Presentation of the Inno Potato Award at INTERPOM | PRIMEURS

The Inno Potato Award was first launched in 2010 to replace the Belgian Potato Quality Award as a means of publicising and encouraging innovation in the potato sector. In 2012 the Inno Potato Award will again be awarded for innovations in the potato growing business. Potato growers in Flanders and Wallonia who have recently introduced an innovation on their farm can enter this innovation for the competition, in conjunction with a supplier or client if appropriate. This can be an innovation in the field of potato growing, storage, mechanisation etc.

This time, the winners will not be selected by their fellow potato growers alone. The professional jury of the Inno Potato Award will allocate 50% of the total marks and the visitors at INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2012 will award the other 50%. The award will be presented on the last day of INTERPOM | PRIMEURS 2012. The winners will receive a cheque for 1 500, 1 000 or 750 , provided by the Flemish and Walloon regional governments.

Full information about the Inno Potato Award (how to enter the competition, deadlines etc.) can be found on the website: www.innopotato.be
