Five new MICHELIN guide applications now available on iPhone

Michelin has announced the release of four new applications for the MICHELIN guide 2012 Italy, Spain & Portugal, Great Britain & Ireland, and Germany as well as an application for the MICHELIN guide Europe 2012. Downloadable from the App Store.

Hotels included in the 2012 applications

The five new applications can be accessed by iPhone users without an Internet connection (except for the global positioning function and user comments) meaning that they can be used outside France at no additional cost. The applications are available in five languages – French, English, Italian, Spanish and Germany – and contain all the restaurants and hotels featured in each MICHELIN 2012 country guide.

A large number of practical functionalities

The main functions enable users to:
‐ Search for a restaurant or hotel by its name or address or, if connected to the Internet, via global positioning.
‐ Access all of their favorite hotels or restaurants.
‐ Display the selected restaurants or hotels as a list, on a map or using augmented reality.
‐ Book a table or room by phone and share their favorite address via e-mail, Facebook or Twitter.
In addition to the selection made by the anonymous MICHELIN guide inspectors, the application also enables users to post their opinions and consult those of others. To do so, they just create their own Michelin account directly from the application.
