COCERAL Crop Forecasts - December 2017
COCERAL published its final estimates for the EU’s 2017/18 total grain crop now stands at 301.5 mln tonnes. The crop is thus only slightly higher than the 296.5 mln tonnes harvested in 2016/17. The wheat crop (including durum wheat) is forecast at 151.1 mln tonnes, which remains well above the 145.2 mln tonnes harvested last year.

The EU’s barley crop stands at 58.4 mln tonnes. Corn harvests took place later than usual and the production is at 61.4 mln tonnes.
The 2017/18 rapeseed crop in the EU is estimated at 22 mln tonnes. The production estimate for Poland has been lowered due to disappointing yields.
