The protection of farmers is at the heart of the Common Agricultural Policy.Each day, our farmers produce high-quality and safe food for 500 million European citizens. Farmers should be treated fairly and get a fair share of the price which the European citizens pay for food.
In order to produce food of the high quality standards European consumers expect, farmers need to be able to rely on conditions of fair and effective competition.
