This is much below last year’s crop when farmers harvested 300.2 mln t of grains.

The wheat crop was revised down from 129.9 mln t to 128.6 mln t, which would also be lower than the 141.9 mln t reached in 2017. Reductions have been mainly made for Scandinavia.

The EU’s barley production forecast was revised down from 57.4 mln t to 56.0 mln t, with reductions again mainly seen in Scandinavia. The 2017 crop stood at 58.3 mln t.

The EU’s corn crop projection was revised up from 58.9 mln t to 60.5 mln t, with further upward revisions in the Balkan countries. In 2017, production was at 60.7 mln t.

The rapeseed production forecast for the EU was almost unchanged at 19.4 mln t (last year: 21.9 mln t).
