Deere Kicks Off Production of 325-HP Self-Propelled Sprayers

Deere & Co. kicked off production this month of new high-capacity self-propelled sprayers at its assembly plant in Ankeny, Iowa.

Deere says the 325-hp Deere PowerTech Plus diesel engines on the vehicle produces the highest sprayer horsepower - up to 357 hp - in the industry and delivers the highest levels of performance with tough hills and muddy conditions.

The company says for three-season productivity, it offers an optional 200 cu. ft. dry box with MultiApplier on the 4930 sprayer, which allows the vehicle to deliver three-season performance of pre- and post-applications and combines two delivery systems on one machine.

Other features include a new system that controls individual boom sections, which automatically turn on or shut off nozzles, based on a global positioning system coverage map that is created as the sprayer goes through the field.
