Gehl Launches Production of New 7810E Skid Steers

Gehl Co., West Bend, Wis., announced today it has launched production of new skid loaders at an assembly plant in Madison, S.D. Production schedules for the new 7810E-model skid loaders, an addition to the E-series, were not disclosed by the company.

The firm said the vehicles would be powered by Cummins turbo-charged diesel engines that generate 99 hpr and 305 ft.-lb. of torque. It has an increased SAE rated load capacity of 3,850 lb and also delivers an unmatched bucket breakout force of 8,340 lb.

Other features include vertical-lift linkage, which provides consistent forward reach throughout the entire lift cycle and a lift height of nearly 12 feet.

A two-speed drive is available on the skid loaders, which offers ground speeds up to 12.5 mph. The 55-inch wheelbase, combined with the optional Hydraglide ride control system, with a special lift arm suspension system that allows the lift arm to "float," provides a smoother ride at faster ground speeds, said Gehl.
