Theo Koekkoek is resigning his position as Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Agrifirm

After 16 years, Theo Koekkoek is transferring the chairmanship of the Supervisory Board of the Royal Agrifirm Group to Arian Kamp. He leaves behind a healthy company: ‘The cooperative has evolved into an organisation with a strong position in the market, one that always gives priority to the interests of its members and customers.’

CEO Dick Hordijk praises the contribution made by Theo Koekkoek (1971): ‘With his extensive experience, he has been very valuable to Agrifirm. He has played a key role as Chairman of the Supervisory Board over the past 16 years. Twice he was faced with the challenging task of shaping a newly merged organisation. Major changes were implemented within the company each time – in the Netherlands as well as in the subsidiaries abroad. With his strong cooperative orientation, Theo contributed to the further professionalisation of the company, in part on the basis of the new Better Together strategy. Always on the basis of member and customer interests. As arable farmer and poultry farmer, he understands exactly what is going on with members and the same time he is firmly rooted in society.’

Arian Kamp (1963) will be appointed as the new Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Agrifirm. Kamp, dairy farmer in Raamsdonk, has been a director at Agrifirm since 2006. He has occupied the position of Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board since 2013. He has access to an extensive network within the agricultural sector, the business community, government and social organisations. Kamp, who pursued his post-graduate education at the Erasmus School of Accounting & Assurance, has gained a great deal of experience in the areas of renewal and innovation in the agricultural and horticultural sectors. In addition, Kamp is a Supervisory Board Member of the Rabobank and member of the management board of various organisations, including the Stichting Beheer Flynth. Kamp succeeds Koekkoek effective on 1 April 2018. His current Vice-Chairman position will be assumed by Kees van der Bos, Supervisory Board Member at Agrifirm since 1 October 2017.

Koekkoek joined the Supervisory Board of Vion on 10 January 2018. In addition, he is a member of the governing board of the Christian Democratic Alliance (CDA) party.
