Copa Cogeca welcome European Parliament approval of new EU farm rules under EU Omnibus Regulation
Copa and Cogeca welcomed today the approval by European Parliament of the agreement struck in the trilogues between MEPs and the EU Council on rules to simplify the EU farming policy. It is good news that agricultural aspects of this Regulation have been split from other issues so that the rules can be introduced swiftly.

Copa and Cogeca Secretary-General Pekka Pesonen said “We welcome the work of European Parliament and the Estonian Presidency to improve rules on EU farm policy to simplify the EU farming policy, boost farmers’ bargaining power and better equip them to face risks. It is welcome news that agricultural aspects of this Regulation are split from other issues. This will enable the rules to be introduced on January 1 2018. We hope that this will deliver a real simplification for farmers”.
