KraussMaffei manufactures plastics and rubber processing machinery. ChemChina is a large chemicals conglomerate, which also owns the tyre company Pirelli. The Commission concluded that the proposed acquisition would not raise competition concerns because several alternative suppliers would remain active after the merger in both the market for plastics and rubber processing machinery and the market for tyres.
