The Best Commis Chef Prize, a creation of our association in collaboration with Rougié, will be awarded to the Best European commis who will win a trip to France.
We have also issued a special brochure about the 5 Swedish Chefs who belong Bocuse d’Or Winners: Mathias Dahlgren, Melker Andersson, Henrik Norström, Jonas Lundgren and Tommy Myllymäki.
Who are Bocuse d’Or Winners?
The Bocuse d’Or prize-winners’ association was started in 2000 backed by Rougié which wanted to help strengthen the links between all the winners of the competition created in 1987 (those who have climbed the podium and won bronze, silver and gold). There are today 39 chefs in the association, from 11 countries.
Concretely, the association’s goals are:
• To contribute to the promotion of Bocuse d’Or as the world’s leading culinary contest, whose reputation attracts the cream of gastronomy to come and applaud the masterpieces created by the chefs.
• To bring together a unique worldwide network of competences.
• To communicate on and with the winners so that the Bocuse d’Or is not only a goal in itself but a genuine springboard for a dynamic future in the profession.
• To be a reference for the whole profession. The members want to promote their trade so that young people are attracted by it. That is why the Bocuse d’Or Winners have created the Best Commis Chef Prize, awarded on the occasion of each Bocuse d’Or to a young commis for his or her professionalism during the competition. This prize is awarded with Rougié.

Bocuse d’Or Winners support Babyloan, the leading European micro credit platform
Bocuse d’Or Winners, the association of all chefs who have climbed the prestigious contest’s podium since it was created in 1987, has decided to fund projects supported by Babyloan.
Babyloan is an incredible micro-enterprise funding system that operates worldwide, a dignified means of helping all those forgotten by the banks. To date, via the Internet, Babyloan has given out a total of 5.6 million euros in loans and supported 13,600 micro-entrepreneurs in 14 countries in Africa, Asia, Latin America and also France, thanks to the support of 24,600 third-party lenders.
The projects funded include many small restaurant owners, artisans in the food trades and farmers; all of these being professions that concern chefs… It’s the start of a beautiful story. After an initial selection, the chefs all vote to choose the ones that will be funded by the Bocuse d’Or Winners.
Moreover, every event in the life of the association is an opportunity to add new funds and increase the financial surface invested in, with the chefs agreeing for example to the idea of paying a part of the fees received back to Babyloan.
Partners of Bocuse d’Or Winners’ have reacted the to the chefs’ initiative with outright enthusiasm, heralding a long future ahead for the project… Many “small” farmers, “small” restaurant owners, “small” merchants or “small” food trade artisans across the world will hence benefit from vital assistance in the development of their business.
The chefs strongly encourage anyone wanting to join their ranks. With this in mind, they have created the www.babyloan.org website, and a group: BOCUSE D’OR WINNERS. From a base amount of 20 € investment, anyone can create their own profile to fund the projects that interest them, then join the group.
Our next book, issued on the occasion of next Bocuse d’Or 2015, will focus on that action and the benefits will help support new projects. More info to come soon!
