Sophie Van Malleghem studied at the University of Louvain and Ghent. She started her career in 2006 as spokeswoman of Vice Prime Minister and former Minister of Finances Didier Reynders. After having spent one year working for a humanitarian organisation, as of October 2009, she became head of communication of Minister Sabine Laruelle, Minister of Middle Classes, Small and Medium Enterprises and Agriculture.
