Agritechnica 2013 - New Holland CR combine

New Holland’s acclaimed range of Twin Rotor™ CR combines have been further upgraded to deliver significant improvements in already benchmark harvesting performance. The CR range’s industry-leading grain and straw quality is now complemented by an impressive 10% to 15% capacity increase, and enhanced operating flexibility in all crops. The CR has delivered unsurpassed harvesting performance to the world’s farmers for over 35 years, and is still the default choice for harvesting professionals.

“The latest CR upgrades are testament to our unceasing quest to improve the harvesting productivity of the world’s professional farmers and contractors,” stated Hedley Cooper, Head of Combine Harvester Product Management. “The all-new and proven Dynamic Feed Roll™, with integrated dynamic stone protection has improved capacity by up to 10%-15% and the SmartTrax™ system with Terraglide™ suspension further reduces compaction while enhancing traction and comfort in all field conditions.”

Dynamic Feed Roll™ with integrated dynamic stone protection: significant productivity increase

The all-new Dynamic Feed Roll, located in front of the rotors, positively feeds the rotors, for smoother, streamlined feeding, and automatically directs stones into a dedicated trap.  The additional roll, available on all models, improves feeder performance by up to 10%-15% thanks to greater throughput. Furthermore, the on-the-go Dynamic Stone Protection means you can keep harvesting on stony ground without the need to stop.

Productivity can be further increased via advanced PLM® technology. All CR combines are delivered PLM® Connect Telematics ready, which enables eventual retrofit by authorized New Holland dealers.

SmartTrax™ system with Terraglide™ suspension: a smoother ride and enhanced traction

New Holland’s efficient SmartTrax™ rubber track system has been further improved with the addition of Terraglide™ suspension technology. Quite simply, two pairs of hydraulic suspended rollers work together to produce a silky smooth ride.

The track length has also significantly increased to enlarge the overall footprint, which subsequently reduces field compaction and enhances traction. Furthermore, the centred pivot point of the SmartTrax maintains traction in boggy ground, and can even help lift the CR out of deep ruts.

Top 40kph ECO transport speed: facilitating logistics, enhancing productivity and reducing fuel consumption by 25%

The CR is the only combine that can deliver 40kph top transport speeds across the entire wheeled range. A full 33% faster than previous CR models, this top transport speed is achieved at reduced engine speeds as low as 1,600rpm, to reduce fuel consumption by 25%.

Harvest Suite Cab: Best in class comfort with a luxury leather seat option

The Harvest Suite cab is universally acclaimed as the benchmark in terms of operator comfort. The new, optional leather seat further enhances the comfortable operating environment during long harvesting days, offering a luxurious touch for the most demanding operators.

The IntelliView™ IV colour touchscreen monitor offers fingertip control of all harvesting parameters. The Auto Crop Settings further enhance harvesting efficiency while outstanding visibility and the whisper quiet cab further combine to enhance the operator experience.

High intensity light package for true, around the clock harvesting

Following extensive customer consultation, New Holland has introduced its most complete lighting package on the CR range, simultaneously improving the spread of light to the front of the combine by up to 55%. Featuring up to five HID work lamps, the entire width of the header as well as the field ahead is fully illuminated.

Two halogen lamps are fitted to the rear shield, and cast a broad spread of light to enable operators to monitor residue distribution or straw flow from the rear of the combine.

A further two lamps are positioned on the side panels, and illuminate the area around the rear tyres, to prevent operators inadvertently driving over standing crop or valuable straw.

Advanced OptiSpread™ technology improves residue management

The renowned OptiSpread™ residue management system has been further upgraded and delivers improved chop quality and chaff spreading performance.  The Dual Chop rake improves the quality of the residue, by chopping it even more finely than before.

Wider tyre offering: reduced compaction and improved traction

Wider steering tyres deliver reduced ground compaction, while ensuring compliance with the stringent 3.5 metre width restriction for road transport, all within an overall height of four metres.

The entire range is also compatible with 900/60/R38 Michelin Cerexbib high diameter tyres. Tests have shown, when combined with the CR’s optimal weight distribution, in-field compaction rates have been reduced by up to 35% when compared with standard tyres.
