The abolition of the milk quota system in 2015 will create a new context for economic operators. An external study by six independent experts will be presented together with the analysis of stakeholders and one think tank.
Two parallel workshops will be devoted to the discussion of market balance and competitiveness on the one hand, and the sustainability of dairy production, including its territorial dimension, on the other hand. The conclusions of the conference will be presented at the Council and the European Parliament in November.
This process will serve as a basis for the report the Commission has to submit to the Council and the European Parliament by June 2014, within the framework of the Milk Package regulation.
