Fruit Logistica Berlin 2013: Helping (potato)growers meeting food chain requirements

Combining leading vegetable and fruit crop genetics with effective chemical and biological crop protection, will help growers to deliver high quality fruit and vegetables that better meet modern food chain requirements.

At Fruit Logistica 2013 , Syngenta will unveil key elements of the company’s integrated business of seeds and crop protection – a world first for new innovation and crop solutions.

The Syngenta presentations will be focused on three major sections:

Innovations in products and technology
In addition to innovative new seed varieties and plant protection products Syngenta is looking into new solutions, including beneficial insects for integrated pest management, bio-pesticides and new application techniques.

Sustainable production
Optimizing the ecological footprint is a key element for a sustainable food production. Syngenta innovations and technology focus on the protection of biodiversity and the management of soil and water.

Meeting value chain requirements
Innovations in color, shape and flavor, in combination with enhanced shelf-life, will revitalise consumer’s attraction and enhance returns across the value chain.

Examples of Syngenta solutions from leading markets on show at Fruit Logistica include:

Integrated Crop Management programs in Europe
By combining genetics, beneficial insects and crop protection solutions growers can produce attractive, nutritious and tasty fruits and vegetables meeting the requirements of the food chain.

The “eMAT”
Syngenta has developed a software tool which provides guidance to the grower on how to secure crop market access. Growers now can check if their crop protection program will meet quality requirements in key global markets.

Productivity meets quality
Tailored Syngenta crop management programmes can help growers deliver on both productivity and quality for retailers and the food chain.
