The facilities will include classrooms plus troubleshooting and service areas. The service areas will be large enough to accommodate combines, tracked and wheeled tractors.
“Zambia can increase food production by improving access to finance, up-scaling farm mechanization and the training of small and medium scale farmers,” said Nuradin Osman, AGCO director of Africa & Middle East.
AGCO recently began development of its African Master Parts Distribution Centre in Johannesburg, South Africa.
“AGCO is committed to growing its presence within Africa by investing in distribution infrastructure and new training sites – like the one planned for Zambia,’ said Hubertus Mühlhäuser, AGCO general manager of Europe, Africa & Middle East, in a statement. “We have committed to invest $100 million in Africa in the coming years.”
