Sino-European Conference

China is the world’s second largest agricultural machinery market, after the United States. Since 2000 there has been remarkable development of the agricultural machinery sector, allowing Chinese farmers to improve the mechanisation level of arable farms. The challenge of the coming years is to increase yields, which is possible only through the use of modern, efficient machinery.

Although China’s agricultural machinery manufacturers have made a great contribution over the past 5 years, there is still a high demand for machinery not offered by them. According to a recent market survey conducted by the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association, the market for Western brands will double in the next few years. The challenge for Western agricultural machinery manufacturers is to find the right approach in terms of exporting technology and parts to China and/or investing in local production.

The Sino-European Conference was initiated by DLG and VDMA at AGRITECHNICA 2005. Each year we see an increasing interest in China’s market on the part of Western manufacturers, as well as an interest in established Western European markets on the part of Chinese manufacturers. The Sino-European Conference will be organised by DLG e.V. (German Agricultural Society), the VDMA Agricultural Machinery Association and CAAMM (China Association of Agricultural Machinery Manufacturers). CAAMM has already registered a delegation of 50 manufacturers for this conference.

The Sino-European Conference will be held on Thursday, 17 November 2011, starting at 09:30 h, in Room 3 B of the Convention Center (CC) at the Exhibition Grounds Hanover.
