Informal meeting of the Council for Environment, Sopot, 11-12 July 2011

On 11-12 July 2011 in Sopot one of the most important meetings of the Polish Environmental Presidency - Informal Council of the Ministers of Environment - will take place. The informal meeting of the ministers of environment is a show-piece of the Presidency in the given thematic scope and the opportunity to hold a political debate in the issues indicated by the Presidency as the most important. The Ministry of Environment will invite the ministers to present their views on the topics recognized as priorities by the Presidency: climate protection in the world and adaptation to climate change, resource-efficiency and summarizing the activities within environment protection within the past 20 years. It will be a perfect opportunity to face the challenges as regards the environment in the European Union. This is one of the most significant areas in the cooperation between Member States, where working out the uniform joint provisions is the key to achieve the objectives.
