New farming practice enables greenhouse gas reduction by 3,6%


The replacement of the piglet castration by vaccination as a solution to reduce boar taint enables a considerable diminution of the quantities of animal feed and manure linked to pig meat production. Both being main contributors to greenhouse gas emissions, the vaccine solution can help farmers reduce their carbon foot print and better respond to the growing concerns for sustainable food production. These are the main conclusions of a conference held today presenting the results of a global assessment.
