The 2011 event promises more than ever to meet visitors’ content expectations (with its open shows and international sales, including the must-see SimBeef sale) and genetic and/or product offers (animal genetics, transport of embryos, livestock feeds, breeding equipment, etc.). SIMAGENA is creating new international events for breeders, always focused on optimizing commercial relations in order to sell specific areas of expertise or capitalize on specialized know-how:
The Prim’Holstein Avenir Awards, organized in partnership with Prim’Holstein France (PHF), will feature 150 heifers presented by young breeders.
The presence of polled livestock (without horns) for the first time at the Limousin Open Show, in which over six European countries will participate. SIMAGENA was the first trade fair to show animals born without horns in an open show.
The presentation of bull lineages to promote high genetic quality.
A morphological classification during the Championships backed up by genomic information. This classification will be produced with the assistance of IGENITY, which specializes in bovine genome research. This is a first for SIMAGENA, which can boast of being the first trade fair to use genomics to classify champions.
For Bruno Bechet, President of Prim’Holstein France, this first participation in SIMAGENA is a big event. “As representatives of one of the most productive dairy breeds, we wanted to actively promote the new generation of French and international breeders in cooperation with the organizers of SIMAGENA. This led to the idea for the first Prim’Holstein heifers competition for young professionals. This major event fits in perfectly with the objectives of our French Young Breeders School founded four years ago.”
“The world’s best buyers come to SIMAGENA because they know that they can not only buy exceptional livestock, but also embryos and semen of excellent genetic quality,” adds Jean-Luc Kress, President of KBS-Genetic, coordinator of the SimBeef sale, which is highly reputed throughout Europe. This sale meets the needs of European customers who account for 50% of the exhibition’s buyers. Countries such as Germany, the United Kingdom, Belgium, Luxembourg, Italy and Switzerland come in force.”
André Fouchet, Managing Director of FAGENIA and coordinator of SIMAGENA, concludes: “SIMAGENA – a true international genetics platform – is above all a forum for business and commercial exchanges. It is a unique opportunity for all breeders, large or small, to demonstrate their know-how and capitalize on the performance of their livestock with international buyers. This year, we are pleased that we are able to set up small meeting spaces for individual breeders.”
