FDA detains farm-raised Chinese seafood

The FDA is detaining imports of all farm-raised catfish, basa, shrimp, dace (related to carp), and eel from China because the products have repeatedly contained "potentially harmful residues." Products will be detained at the border until shipments are proven to be free of residues from drugs not approved in the U.S.
