Heinz Ketchup and Trivial Pursuit Team up to Kick off Worlds Largest Trivia Game

Heinz Ketchup Pays Tribute to the 80s With Online Trivia Contest and Millions of Special-Edition Ketchup Packets Featuring Questions from Trivial Pursuits® Totally 80s Edition
If you remember all-too-well the decade known for big hair and break dancing, those memories could pay off.

The H. J. Heinz Company (NYSE:HNZ) today announced it will distribute more than 200 million special-edition Heinz Ketchup packets featuring questions and answers from the new Trivial Pursuit Totally 80s Edition and offer consumers a chance to win cash and prizes.

The packets will be distributed to foodservice operations throughout the country as part of the Heinz Ketchup Trivial Pursuit Contest and will, in effect, create the worlds largest Trivial Pursuit game. Consumers will have the opportunity to enter the contest as described on the special-edition Heinz Ketchup packets and register online at HeinzTrivialPursuit.com to win a $2,500 grand prize and hundreds of Trivial Pursuit Totally 80s Edition games.

Theres a certain nostalgia that people have for the 80s, so were giving consumers a chance to reminisce about that special time in their lives while enjoying the Ketchup theyve loved all along, said Rebecca Serafini, Senior Brand Manager, Ketchup, Condiments & Sauces, Heinz Foodservice. As we kick off the worlds largest Trivial Pursuit game, we know this is a great partnership that naturally equals fun for everyone.

As part of the 80s trivia fun, the packets will feature such trivia questions as: What series went off the air in 1980 despite efforts of the unknown comic and Gene, Gene and the Dancing Machine? and What pop duo made an immediate impact with the hit Wake me up Before You Go-Go?

Those consumers who visit the contest site in response to the questions and enter the name and location of the restaurant/foodservice operation where they received the packet, will be entered for a chance to win. The more times a restaurant is mentioned, the more chances its operator has to win free Heinz Ketchup. The site also features vintage 80s Heinz Ketchup TV commercials and a link to play Trivial Pursuit online.

This is a chance for millions of Americans to remember more than they realize about the colorful 80s, said Tim Eio, Senior Marketing Manager, Hasbro Games. This Trivial Pursuit game celebrates those moments that made the decade so memorable.

The special-edition Heinz Ketchup packets will be distributed through January 31, 2007 to foodservice operations throughout the country, including restaurants, schools, stadiums and more.
