Miller Acquires Raptor Product Line

Miller-St. Nazianz, Inc. announced on June 13 that it has acquired the Raptor self-propelled sprayer line to become an integral part of its application equipment manufacturing business. Prior to this acquisition, Miller Application Technologies (MAT), which is Miller's application operation, included NITRO high clearance sprayers, the Miller Mertz CenterRide chassis, and Silver Wheels floater trucks.

"Adding the Raptor line to an already extensive product mix provides Miller dealers and customers greater choice of products as it complements Miller's front boom, hydraulic 4wd, 72" clearance NITRO line," stated Rich Basarich, Miller's vice president of marketing and sales. "Raptor fits markets where there's a preference for a rear mounted boom, 48" clearance, 2-wheel mechanical drive self-propelled row crop machine," Basarich said.

"We have reviewed this new product line thoroughly and are impressed by its innovative and stout design. We are excited that the combination of the Raptor design with Miller's manufacturing expertise will provide our customers with a state of the art machine," he continued.

Miller-St. Nazianz Inc. has purchased the Raptor product line from Weddle Equipment Company of Martinsville, Indiana and it welcomes Ken Weddle, the creator of the Raptor to its application products team. Initially, four models will include the 850, 1000, 1000 Pro and 1200 Pro. Raptor's design is characterized by its robust construction, conventional front engine location, mid-mount John Deere 90 series cab and tank, heavy duty mechanical drive and a rear mounted boom.

Anyone interested in viewing the Raptor product line is invited to see it at upcoming farm and equipment shows.

Miller-St. Nazianz, Inc. is a Wisconsin-based company that serves customers throughout North America and in other parts of the world. In addition to its application business, Miller manufactures an expansive line of hay & forage equipment. In late 2004, Miller acquired Ag-Bag, the pioneering leader of the silage bagging industry.

Other hay and forage product lines include Miller Pro, Badger and Victor - a John Deere allied product line.

Miller's application products also include crop trailer sprayers, 3-point hitch sprayers, and pickup truck sprayers. The company has been an agricultural supplier since 1899 when the present owner's great grandfather first opened his hardware business in St. Nazianz, Wisconsin. One hundred and seven years later, Miller-St. Nazianz, Inc. continues to grow from its original location in the fertile farmland area of east central Wisconsin.
