Syngenta to acquire Emergent Genetics Vegetable A/S in Denmark


Now a member of Syngenta family...

Emergent Genetics Vegetable A/S announced today an agreement for acquisition by Syngenta.  EGV is currently owned by International Seed Holdings L.P. The Company is a well-known Vegetable seed company specialized in breeding and marketing of selected vegetable crops.
 
EGV focuses primarily on spinach, cucumber, cabbage, cauliflower and herbs. It markets its products under three well-known historical brands �Daehnfeldt�, �Ohlsens Enke� and �Hurst� in Europe, North America and also in Africa, India and China.
 
Sam Dryden, board member of International Seed Holdings and EGV commented: �We are pleased to have found in Syngenta a global company with strong roots in seeds and strength in genomics that can build on the long vegetable seeds history of Daehnfeldt. Our products complement Syngenta�s focus on quality and nutrition and we are convinced that this acquisition will be to the benefit of both organizations.

The transaction is expected to close after receiving customary regulatory approvals.
