Fruit Logistica 2006: Food safety is of primary importance for Fyffes

At this years FRUIT LOGISTICA the companies Capespan (Antwerp), Fyffes B.V. (Rotterdam), and Weichert (Hamburg), are presenting their products and services under the overall coordination of Fyffes plc, Dublin.

Representatives of Fyffes other partner firms such as Eurobanan (Madrid), Peviani (Siziano), Hortim (Prague), and Lembcke (Copenhagen) are also attending the fair. For Fyffes plc, one of the worlds top five suppliers of fresh fruit and Europes second largest banana importer, FRUIT LOGISTICA provides a vital platform, especially in a year that will see such fundamental changes on the banana market, for presenting the groups capabilities, according to Ralph Fischer, Marketing Manager of Internationale Fruchtimport Gesellschaft Weichert & Co. KG. As he also points out, trading partners and customers will find staff from all the departments available to answer their questions about the supply of produce, logistics, quality assurance and marketing.

For Fyffes the subject of food safety is of paramount importance, especially against the background of current discussions about pollutants and other major issues. Although every conceivable safety standard is guaranteed for all Fyffes products, we are nevertheless making every effort to provide complete documentary proof of the traceability of all our products. It is essential that Fyffes customers and consumers should and can be certain that the Fyffes logo is a guarantee of this standard, according to Coen Bos, Managing Director Fyffes Bananas and Pineapples.
