This product range encompasses the 25 different types of vegetables which this group, representing Brittanys growers, are displaying on a 140 square metre stand, from artichokes and chicory to fennel and pink Roscoff onions, shii-take mushrooms and courgettes.
In quantitative terms cauliflowers head the field with annual production of 320000 tonnes; but the highest turnover is achieved with the 160,000 tonnes of tomatoes harvested annually by the more than 3,000 farmers who belong to the growers federation that was set up in 1940. For some ten years Prince de Bretagne has also been supplying its customers with organic vegetables and miniature varieties of its firm and inviting produce.
Half of the production is intended for the domestic market, the other half being exported to more than 20 countries, including the USA and Japan. In Europe the largest market for its products is that of Germany. Sinquin explains that Prince de Bretagne is the market leader in Europe, with an annual turnover of 320 million euros.
