Launch of new company for tracing goods announced at FRUIT LOGISTICA

The launch of a new company for the centralised, continuous tracing of goods was announced by T-Systems at the start of FRUIT LOGISTICA. Transparent Goods GmbH is part of the T-Systems group of solutions known as Commodity Online Services and is providing a central data pool for the food supply chain.

It enables the entire chain of production and supply of foodstuffs and other goods to be documented and clearly shown all the way to the ultimate consumer. In addition T-Systems and the fruit trade association Deutscher Fruchthandelsverband have signed an agreement during the International Trade Fair for Fruit and Vegetable Marketing Berlin to set up and operate a database for samples and the results of analyses of fruit and vegetables. For manufacturers and the trade this new company will be the central service provider for all the various tasks that make up the food supply chain.

With our solutions it will be possible to continuously retrace each stage in the supply chain of a product, all the way back to the field. In this way we are making a substantial contribution to the efforts of the retail trade to meet customers needs for greater food safety, says Dr. Herbert Machill, Director of Industry Line Services with T-Systems, who is also the Interim General Manager of Transparent Goods GmbH.
