LVMH boosted by strong champagne sales

French luxury products group LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton has reported an 11% growth in revenue in 2005, boosted by its premium wines and spirits business.

Full-year revenue for the company grew 11% to $17 billion. All geographic regions where the group is present increased their revenue, with an acceleration of growth in the US, Asia and Europe.

The Parisian firm's wines and spirits unit, which sells a range of premium brands including Hennessy cognac and Veuve Clicquot champagne, also recorded organic revenue growth of 11% to $2.8 billion.

The group said that it plans to continue to focus on its most lucrative brands in order to further increase profits.
