MACFRUT 2012, The green planet of the fruit and vegetable business sector

The international exhibition on the fresh produce industry is getting ready for its next edition, which will take place in Cesena (Italy) from September 26 to September 28. This year the exhibition, which as in previous years will see the participation of many exhibitors and which will offer many events for professionals, has a new graphic image.

A new graphic image, characterized by a heart full of fruit and vegetables, conveys a precise message: Macfrut is the green planet of the fruit and vegetable business sector. This is the way in which organizers chose to present the 29th edition of Macfrut, the international fresh produce exhibition that will be held in Cesena (Italy) from September 26 to September 28, 2012.

The show has become very famous worldwide, as a meeting point for the professionals of the sector, and also this year it will organize many congresses and will be attended by a wide range of exhibitors, coming from all the sectors of the supply chain. From production to processing, from packaging to marketing, from technology to logistics: hundreds of companies will present their main new products at Macfrut 2012, where, for three days, it will be possible to meet buyers and professionals from all over the world, to see the developments of the technologies of the sector and to take part in important meetings and conferences, among which the traditional international symposium on the day before the official opening, and for the 2012 edition the symposium will focus for the first time on the growing of strawberries. On September 25, Tuesday, the most important international researchers and scientists who work on this product will meet in Cesena to present the state of the art of research and future prospects.

Besides, also in 2012 Macfrut will focus on two subjects that have traditionally been important for Cesena Fiera: the improvement of products and processes and opening up to international relations.

“Also this year we will focus on two aspects which we consider as central for the evolution of the sector”, Domenico Scarpellini, President of Cesena Fiera, commented. “The first is the innovation of the product and of the process, with the aim of improving the know how and the technological level that characterize the Italian equipment and mechanics sectors in this field. The second is the boost to internationalization, which is necessary in order to support companies in their trade activities and which should be implemented by cooperating with professionals, institutions and international fair centers”, he concluded.

The 29th edition of Macfrut will be held in Cesena (Italy) from September 26 to September 28, 2012.
